Abstract

This study analyzes the authenticity of the Qur'an by tracing its historical processes, encompassing revelation, transmission, codification, and text stabilization. Employing a qualitative library research approach with historical-critical analysis, this study draws on sources from both Muslim and Western scholars. The findings reveal that Qur'anic authenticity is supported by a comprehensive and multi-layered preservation system: a gradual revelation within a well-documented historical context, a dual transmission system through memorization and writing since the Prophet's era, systematic codification under the caliphates of Abu Bakr and Uthman ibn Affan, and text stabilization through the refinement of the writing system and the canonization of accepted qirā'āt. This study concludes that the authenticity of the Qur'an is not merely theological but can also be demonstrated historically and philologically, rendering it one of the most reliably preserved religious texts in the history of human civilization
