PEMANFAATAN WHATSAPP UNTUK MENINGKATKAN FOKUS BELAJAR BAHASA ARAB SISWA MADRASAH PADA PEMBELAJARAN DARING

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using the WhatsApp app in improving students’ focus on learning Arabic in the 10th-grade Religious Studies 1 class at MAN 19 Jakarta during distance learning. The study was conducted using an action research approach by implementing WhatsAppbased learning through the stages of material delivery, discussion, assignment completion, reflection, and evaluation using pretests and posttests. The study sample consisted of 26 students. Data were collected through observation, test results, documentation, and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the use of WhatsApp was able to improve students’ focus on learning, as indicated by an increase in the average score from 60 before implementation to 87 after the implementation of WhatsApp-based learning. Additionally, the questionnaire results indicated that 63.2% of students stated that WhatsApp helped improve their focus during the learning process. These findings indicate that WhatsApp is an effective, easily accessible, and data-efficient learning medium that supports interaction between teachers and students in online learning. Thus, the use of WhatsApp can serve as a relevant alternative learning medium to improve students’ focus, particularly in distance learning settings.
